VISION AND VALUES

Vision

Making disciples of all nations by serving people and exalting Jesus.

Values

GOSPEL – We value the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that the gospel is not the springboard into the Christian life, but is the Christian life because we never get passed needing the grace of God in our lives to change and transform us into the image of Jesus. (Romans 1:16; Philippians 1:61 Corinthians 2:21 Corinthians 9:161 Thessalonians 1:5).

TRUTH – We value the authority of Scripture. We believe it is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. We believe the Bible is sufficient for all areas of life. As we submit to the authority of the Bible, we abandon all personal desires and ambitions that are in conflict with God’s Word (1 Timothy 3:16,17Joshua 1:8Matthew 5:17-19).

PRAYER – We value the power of regular communion and fellowship with God through prayer. We recognize that apart from God we can do nothing. We understand that prayer affords us wisdom, grants us peace, and is a source of strength. We believe prayer is the foundation of all ministry and is a ministry to the church and its members (John 15:5Psalm 37:4Philippians 4:6-82 Corinthians 1:11Ephesians 6:181 Thessalonians 5:18Colossians 4:21 Timothy 2:1James 5:13-16).

AUTHENTICITY – We value authenticity, knowing that we are not perfect, yet striving toward becoming more like Christ. The church is not a shrine for the saints, but a hospital for sinners. We seek to create an environment where people can openly and regularly share both their victories and struggles in following Jesus (Romans 12:9, 151 Peter 1:221 Corinthians 12:26Matthew 23:27-281 Peter 2:1).

COMMUNITY – We value the community of believers. We believe that Jesus called us into fellowship with God and with His children. A culture of love assumes that the Christian life is not fully experienced apart the fellowship of other believers. Genuine biblical (koinonia) fellowship strengthens our love for God and our love for one another (1 John 1:7Hebrews 10:24-25Acts 2:42Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12).
